I signed up to Facebook yesterday for purposes of networking the book. I seem to have 300 friends already! I don’t imagine the people check out who they are confirming as friend, since I have not had one book sale

I started writing my second book. This book is called Exploring the Conflict; Why Men don’t Communicate

The book publisher said that the press releases and book copies went out yesterday. One was sent to Oprah’s publicist. I also sent copies of the book to Karen Armstrong -author, Judge Judy, and Eminem.

I have, now, gotten some feedback from readers. The women love it One man says it’s “a lot of Hooey” and another didn’t like the fact that one of the chapters (Directional Questioning) was very short. I responded that the book could have been much longer, however, I didn’t want a volume for my first book. I also said that if he were to have seen a book by the same author in 6 months, talking about the topic of Directional questioning, he would probably pick up the book to see if the author had written anything more interesting than what was in the first book.

Today, I filled out a form on Oprah.com The form asked for ideas for future shows. I noticed that under the category of Hot Topics, a future show was going to be about suicide and homicide amongst soldiers. I included in my pitch: “Depression is anger turned inwards. This is another way of looking at Depression. My cure for suicide is another way of looking at life. Ask yourself why you are on planet Earth. My answer, which I help my clients to discover, is the cure to suicide.

My name is Leo and I wrote a book!  “That’s nice” people will say.  I think that this book, though, will change the way people think about communication; something people seem to take for granted.

This blog is for your comments, your questions and any issues that you would like to share.

My theory is that people talk to each other, but don’t communicate; men are worse than women at trying.  The problem, of course, comes when a man and a woman get into a relationship.  When it’s smooth sailing, no problems; however, when a problem does arise, the woman will do what she has done all of her life with her girlfriends -communicate.  The man, on the other hand, will look at her and wonder what all of the fuss is about.  Hurt ensues.

The other people to get hurt are the children, by poor communication.  Children are full of desires; not all are realistic.  The children need guidance; however, I still often hear adults just telling a child “No”.  A better way might be to tell the child “No” with an explanation (i.e “No, you can’t have a cookie because dinner is in 1 hour, and you want to eat it”).

This first book talks about these issues and others.  The other books will talk about those issues that people find most interesting, and would like to read more about.  This first book is only 72 pages; therefore, I haven’t gone into a whole lot of depth on some subjects.  I have gone into depth on Desire regulation, the four, “primary” emotions and roles (both assigned and adopted).
